These dolls were made by Penobscot artist Wendy Hamilton of Little Bear Crafts who learned from her aunt.
Speaking to her journey as a doll maker Wendy says, "Twelve of the dolls that I make today were created by my aunt, Ruth Francis. She started making these Native dolls in the late 1970s. She continued to make them until 2013, when she started her final journey to the land of our Ancestors. I started working with her in 2004 so that I may carry on her 35+ years tradition."
